Please understand that this is a form for poetry video submission to HKR's poetry channel. You may use this form if you would like HKR to consider your video poetry submission for possible inclusion in HKR's poetry channel and your poem(s) hasn't been published by the print version of the journal yet. If your work has been published by HKR's print journal before, the editorial team will invite you to join our poetry channel directly and you don't have to use this form.

If you want to use this form, please upload a video of your reading of up to three poems together with a word or PDF file of the poems. Please show us if the poems have been published elsewhere. If yes, please give us the right to include them in our poetry channel. If the poems haven't been published before and the editorial team at HKR decides to include your poems in the poetry channel, your written poems will also be considered for publication in HKR's print journal.

We are looking for thoughtful, engaging, and beautifully written book reviews of around 2000 words. Please submit your review of works of fiction or poetry or creative nonfiction by using this form.

Your review should be able to be read on Pages on Mac or Microsoft Office Word. Please include the following information in your cover letter and at the top of your review: Title of book, author's name, name of press, publication date, your name and your email address. Please also include your contact information (email and phone number, if available) and a brief bio (≤100 words) that we can use if your review is accepted. We will contact you for a portrait-style photo once your review will be published on the website of The Hong Kong Review.

All reviews sent to us must be previously unpublished. Each issue of The Hong Kong Review will include at most two pieces of reviews published online during the three months prior to the specific issue’s date of publication.

The Hong Kong Review publishes short stories, novellas, excerpts of novels, poems, creative nonfiction, critical essays, translations of poetry or short prose, and pictures of artwork. For fiction submission, please submit one piece of your work a time. For poetry and picture submission, please submit up to five pieces of your work a time. We accept Word or Pages documents for your texts. If you are to submit translations, please obtain the author and publisher permissions beforehand.
